About Me

My name is Jamie and I reign from the heartland of America – beautiful Columbus, Ohio. I recently graduated from Miami University (of Ohio) with a B.A. in Strategic Communication accompanied with minors in Spanish and marketing.

My passion for service work stemmed from volunteering for Montana de Luz, an orphanage for children with HIV/AIDS in Honduras, during my high school years. This opportunity led me to discover my passion for service work on an international scale, which I have pursued throughout my college years in many different aspects.

Ultimately, it has led me to my next adventure of serving as a Community Health Promoter for the Peace Corps in Peru for the next 27 months, departing in September 2014 and returning November 2016.

  1. Hi Jamie. I have enjoyed checking out your blog! My name is Michelle. I was a part of the PC Blog It Home contest a couple years ago and wanted to share a project I’m working on to help PCVs “level up” their online presence to promote cross-cultural understanding/Third Goal. We have a 10 week Blog Challenge as well as a monthly social media Photo Challenge going on right now (see http://bloggingabroad.org/tools). We also have a Featured Blogs Around the World page, and I would love for you to submit your blog! Just look for the “start here” link at the top of this page: http://www.bloggingabroad.org/blogs-around-the-world/. All the best to you!
